Introducing Stephen Roger
I have been extremely fortunate to have played golf for most of my life, having grown up learning the game at Cruden Bay Golf Club in Aberdeenshire, my passion for golf began. I thoroughly enjoyed junior golf, eager to compete against my friends whenever I could. Having taken the game up at the age of 13, I was behind many of the countrys leading juniors, but with a ravenous work ethic and time to devote to the sport I cherished so dearly, I rectified this quickly.
By 18 my handicap fell to +4 and I managed to win a couple national events and gain entry into the Scottish Mens
Performance Squad, where my development was nurtured by Scotlands leading coaches. Ian Rae: Scotlands National Mens coach of 26 years and Alan Mccloskey: an established coach on the European tour. This is where my fascination with coaching really began.
Over the next few years I reached a +6 handicap and competed internationally in top Amateur events across Europe and Africa, whilst developing a keen
interest in gym work and the performance benefits for golf; attaining my Personal Training Certification. I then moved to the Midlands in the summer of 2022 to embark upon my journey to become a fully qualified PGA Professional whilst developing a busy personal training business. This taught me the value of good time management and a hearty breakfast!
Golf has taken me to incredible places and I’ve made many lifelong friends, having numerous lessons in golf and life from some incredibly influential individuals. I’ve always striven for improvement in my game and relish the challenge of helping others do the same. I”ve been lucky to be exposed to a number of different teaching styles and feel I can bring refinement to any level of golfer.
Working with people is my passion, nothing brings me greater satisfaction than supporting players in reaching their goals, whether they are on the course, or in the gym. Applying yourself consistently whilst making practice/training fun, diverse and engaging is the recipe I believe in
